Code Of Ethics
To uphold the integrity of Layout Labs Creative 'Code of Ethics' (COE) all staff, employees and contractors will be forthright in honesty with all stakeholders, will not provide false or misleading information and acknowledge the following commitments to the 'values' and 'ideals' of the COE and in doing so these actions will promote and advance our work within the industries of Information Design & Manufacturing Technologies.
Quotations
- Allow the opportunity for others to seek and receive an official written quote.
- Ensure all quotations have a clearly messaged expiration period.
- Endeavour to give realistic pricing for specifications.
- Ensure that terms for ‘payments and/or deposits’ is provided for in all quotations.
- Provide for terms for ‘alterations after work has commenced’ in all quotations.
Deadlines
- Not mislead with improper deadlines and ensure responsible time frames.
- Strive to perform against agreed plans and advise discrepancies immediately.
- Ensure clients are kept informed of their project status through regular progress reports.
Software
- Ensure all software used or sold is compliant to global Standards.
- Conform to website development under the Living Standards and WCAG Guidelines.
- Seek only software that ensures developmental continuity.
- Align to the legacy of open source software initiatives.
Customers
- Maintain the confidentiality of, the guarding of and the protection of all data collected.
- Forward any complaint to the appropriate handler assigned the duty.
- Follow the official procedure for any customer feedback process.
- Act with respect, courtesy and without prejudice when collecting customer feedback.
- Value customer feedback as a tool for process improvement and better outcomes.
Contractors
- Advertise for competent contractors in an objective and unbiased way.
- Ensure the hiring process is open and fair to all others.
- Accommodate for the individuality and other requirements of contractors.
- Act in an appropriate manner when handling contractor disputes.
Accountability and Responsibility
- Engage in professional conduct and accept full accountability for actions.
- Be responsible in the expected performance of duties.
- Assume full responsibility for performance in any “acting role” assignments.
- Be transparent in all business practices to lessen conflicts of interest.
WCAG Accessibility
- Not engage in activities that bring WCAG Accessibility into disrepute.
- Act aligned with, encourage respect for and uphold Accessibility standards.
- Not exploit relationships with Accessibility user requirements.
- Ensure continuity in knowledge for WCAG Accessibility standards.
